Junaid, Nasir killing: Rajasthan Police arrests two Hindutva men from Dehradun

The Bharatpur Police in Rajasthan on Friday arrested two Hindutva men involved in the abduction and brutal murder of Junaid and Nasir in February.

The two persons who have been arrested on Friday have been identified as Monu Rana and Gogi, said Inspector General of Police (Bharatpur) Gaurav Srivastava. The two were arrested from an isolated hilly area in Dehradun, he said.

Rana and Gogi were on Friday produced before a court, which sent them to police custody for 10 days.

The two had links with Hindutva group Bajrang Dal and were also associated with other militant groups such as the Haryana Gau Raksha Dal, said Srivastava.

On 17 February, the police had arrested one of the accused men, Rinku Saini, in the case. Eight persons were involved in the crime, according to the police.

The charred bodies of Nasir and Junaid were found in a car in Haryana’s Bhiwani district on 16 February after they were abducted by some Hindutva men from Bharatpur.

Regarding the inquiry about the head of Bajrang Dal killer gang Monu Manesar, the cop stated that he has been mentioned in the FIR and is still on the list of suspects. He further stated that any statement about Monu Manesar’s involvement can only be made after questioning the individuals who have been arrested.
