Police in Rajasthan have filed an FIR against a magistrate over allegations that he asked a Dalit woman, a rape survivor, to remove her clothes.

46-year-old Sethu residing in Thoppil Colony, Kilimanoor area of Thiruvananthapuram, was arrested by Kilimanoor police on March 22 from Kilimanoor Grama Panchayat. He was jailed at Attingal Sub Jail and Special Sub Jail, Thiruvananthapuram, until March 25 when he was bailed out.

A 17-year-old Dalit who is a class X student was died from a bullet injury amid police firing following a clash over the installation of a board with B R Ambedkar’s photo on Ambedkar Park in Uttar Pradesh’s Rampur district, the deceased’s family said.

A 17-year-old Pre-University student belonging to the Dalit community faced an alleged assault and was forced to chant "Jai Shri Ram" due to a WhatsApp status featuring images of Lord Rama and B.R. Ambedkar. The assailants reportedly took offense, claiming the victim was "belittling Lord Ram."

Dr. Ritu Singh, a former Delhi University (DU) faculty member, was detained by the Delhi police on Tuesday evening after the 'forceful removal' of protest tents and belongings of protestors, including Ritu Singh and her supporters, from the demonstration site outside the Arts faculty of the Delhi University campus on Monday. She was released over 7 hours later.
