‘It is a Welcome Step’ Kerala CM welcomes BJP Govt’s quota push

Following the Narendra Modi Government approved 10% reservation for economically backward upper castes on Monday, Kerala chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that the CPI(M) has been raising this demand for long.

“They had been trying to destroy the reservation system. We have always demanded this reservation for financially backward classes in the upper caste. Now that finally they have taken this decision, it is a welcome step,” the CM added. 

The BJP government today approved a 10 per cent reservation for economically backward upper castes in government jobs and education. A proposal for 10 per cent reservation for those who are economically backward or weaker and fall under the general category was approved by the Union cabinet today
