Live: Multiple Blasts Targets Easter Celebrations in Sri Lanka; 129 Killed

Churches and high-end Hotels were targeted in a series of blast on Easter morning in Sri Lanka. The explosion went off around 9 am in at least six Locations. Reports suggest more than 129 killed as per AFP quoting hospital sources. Many fear casualties would rise in the coming hours.

Three churches in Kochchikade, Negombo and Batticaloa were targeted during Easter services, reports BBC. Major hotel chains like Shangri La, Cinnamon Grand and Kingsbury hotels, all in Colombo, were also hit.

President Maithripala Sirisena asked the people to stay calm and support the authorities. The explosions in major hotels might have affected foreign tourists.
