Zakariya meets his ailing mother

Zakariya, an under-trial prisoner in the 2008 Bangalore blasts visited his ailing mother Beyummah for a day after the news of depleting health. Zakariya Koniyath, who is under trial imprisonment for last 11 years, was granted permission by court to visit his ailing mother. He had to deposit two hundred thousand rupees as bail for a day to pay his ailing mother a visit.

Overthrowing procedures, Karnataka police abducted Zakariya on 5 February 2009 from his workplace in Tirur, Kerala. He was a 19 year old commerce student in a cooperate college and worked at a mobile shop to support his single Parent – Beyummah.
