HE Abdul Rahman bin Mohammad Al Owais, Minister of Health and Prevention stressed that tolerance is the hallmark of intellectually and morally advanced societies, the engine of prosperity and sustainability and the backbone of stability.
On the occasion of The International Day for Tolerance, the minister said: “Tolerance is an intrinsic value, a key trait of the UAE social fabric and a fundamental pillar of the country’s vision for the present and the future.
Since its inception, the UAE laid solid foundations for justice, equality, love and respect for other, paid utmost attention to peace issues worldwide and sought to bring peace and spread love and goodness in all countries of the world.
Announcing 2019 as a Year of Tolerance by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed, was interestingly another testament of our leadership’s keenness to strengthen and deepen the values of tolerance and openness.
In this spirit and to further promote the noble value-system, the Ministry of Health and Prevention strives to transform tolerance from a societal value to sustainable institutional action, through a package of initiatives, projects and programmes, aimed at highlighting the importance of this value and bolstering the UAE’s position as a global capital for coexistence and tolerance.
Lastly but most importantly, the ministry renews its full commitment to supporting the UAE’s strategies meant to establish and promote the concept of tolerance.
