Masked ABVP goons attack students, teachers at JNU, JNUSU president Aishe Ghosh injured

Students at the Sabarmati and other hostels of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) have been brutally attacked by a masked ABVP mob today evening.

The photos and videos from JNU show students are badly injured.

Students say that the RSS-affiliated ABVP members armed with sticks and rods wreaking havoc on campus, beating up and intimidating protesting students.

“They are breaking glasses of hostels and cars. The masked ABVP mob from outside JNU have entered the campus,” students say.

“Professors who were trying to protect us have been beaten up. These are unknown ABVP goons, not all are students, they have covered their faces, and they are moving towards the hotels near the West Gate. Stay alert. Make human chains. Protect each other,” a tweet from the students’ union’s official handle read.

The JNUSU President Aishe Ghosh is badly injured and she is severely bleeding from head, student told Maktoob. In a video, she can be seen with a bloody face. She said ABVP members did this to her.

 “I have been brutally attacked by goons wearing masks. I have been bleeding. I was brutally beaten up,” she says.

Injured and bleeding, Aishe Ghosh, has been taken to AIIMS.

There are reports of violent assault on teachers also by an armed, masked mob.

Sucharita Sen, JNU faculty member who was beaten by ABVP activists has been taken to hospital.

“A lot of goons are beating everyone with iron roads and sticks. We are in Sabarmathi. Stuck in Bathrrom. A lot of goons have entered Sabarmathi. They are beating up women. I am in Sabarmathi Bathrrom,” a female student sent message in WhatsApp.
