Mohammad Furqan, 32, has died due to bullet injuries during the violence led by Delhi Police and supporters of CAA against Muslims in North East Delhi on Monday.
He died due to excessive bleeding.
Furqan died in the Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital. His family has claimed that he died due to a bullet injury.
According to The Quint, Furqan, who made designer wedding-card boxes, lived with his family in Kardampuri in northeast Delhi, close to the Jaffrabad bridge.
Mohammad Imran, Furkan’s elder brother, recounted to NDTV, how he first heard about what had happened. “Someone called and told me, ‘your brother has been shot in the foot’. I couldn’t believe it. Then I called him and he did not pick up the phone.”
Imran wept, “My world is shattered. Nothing is left. He has small children, a son and a daughter.”
In disturbing videos and images of today’s violence, houses of Muslims, mosques, and shops in Muslim localities can be seen burning. The videos also show a CAA supporter waving the gun and shouting against Muslims.
Muslims who protest against Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), their houses and properties were targeted by Delhi policemen and Pro-CAA goons today as police violence broke out across multiple northeast Delhi neighborhoods for a second time in less than 24 hours.
