Ex BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Senger, 6 others found guilty of death of Unnao rape survivor’s father

Delhi’s Tis Hazari Court holds guilty the 7 accused including ex BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Senger for the custodial death of Unnao rape victim’s father; 4 other acquitted by the Court, ANI reported.

Kuldeep Singh Sengar, a convicted rapist and criminal conspirator, was a Member of legislative assembly, and belonged to Bhartiya Janta Party from Bangarmau, Uttar Pradesh.

On 28 July 2019, two of the victim’s aunts were killed and the victim and her lawyer critically injured, when a truck rammed the car they were travelling in. Sengar has been booked for murder, attempt to murder, criminal conspiracy, and criminal intimidation. The police FIR lists 10 persons including Sengar’s brother Manoj Singh Sengar, Sashi Singh and his aides.

He is also the main accused in the Unnao rape case and was booked under the POCSO Act.

Earlier, Sengar raped a 17-year-old teen in Unnao, who approached him asking for a job on 4 June 2017. On 13 April 2018, he was taken in by the Central Bureau of Investigation for questioning.

He has been booked under 4 sections of Indian Penal Code and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences. In December 2019, he was convicted of kidnapping and raping a minor
