Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh workers attacked Muslim relief workers during relief supplies distribution in Bengaluru on Monday.

23-year-old Syed Tabrez who is also a district secretary of Swaraj Abhiyan and five others were attacked at Dasarahalli slum in Bengaluru despite police assurance. The volunteers were helping the poor who are in misery due to lockdown.

Tabrez along with Kiran, Junaid, Riyaz, Feroz and Amjad was assaulted by more than 15 armed goons. An eyewitness claim that assailants threatened warned people to decline the supplies given by Muslims.

‘Muslims are poisoning the rations,’ RSS workers swore, as per the witness accounts.

They also said Muslims shouldn’t deliver food and demanded them to leave the slum and relocate somewhere else.

Injured victims are admitted to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Medical College in Shampur.

On Saturday, the relief group was threatened by the RSS activists who told them to stop distributing essential products to families in the slum. Following the verbal threats, volunteers complained to the Police Inspector in the Amrutahalli Police Station.

They were given a verbal by an assurance by the police that their complaints will be looked into. The group claims that they informed police prior to going to the slum.
