Eleven million cases of coronavirus worldwide

The World Health Organization urged countries hit by coronavirus pandemic to “wake up” to the realities on the ground instead of bickering, and to “take control”.

“People need to wake up. The data is not lying. The situation on the ground is not lying,” WHO emergencies director Michael Ryan said.

There are now 11 million confirmed cases of coronavirus worldwide, according to the data collected by Johns Hopkins University.

More than 512,600 people known to have died.
