I am not joining BJP: Sachin Pilot

Rebel Congress leader Sachin Pilot Wednesday reiterated that he’s not joining the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

In an interaction with news agency PTI, Pilot asserted that he had worked hard to defeat BJP and bring the Congress back to power in Rajasthan.

Accusing some Rajasthan leaders of fueling speculation of him joining BJP, Pilot categorically said that he had no such plans. “Such speculation is being fuelled to tarnish my image,” he said.

Pilot’s remarks come a day after the Congress sacked him as Rajasthan’s deputy chief minister and the party’s state unit president.

Pilot’s rebellion has left the Congress government in Rajasthan on an edge.

On Monday, when asked if he was joining the BJP, Pilot also told The Indian Express, “I am not joining the BJP.”

On Tuesday, Congress party spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala claimed that Sachin Pilot and some of his associates have been swayed by BJP’s plot.

“I regret that Sachin Pilot and some of his associates have been swayed by BJP’s plot and are now conspiring to topple the Congress government elected by eight crore Rajasthanis,” Surjewala told reporters.
