Discrepancies in COVID-19 tally: RJD demands ‘clear picture’ from Nitish govt

Leader of opposition in the Bihar Legislative Assembly and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav took a swipe at the Bihar government over discrepancies in the tally of coronavirus cases in the state, ANI reports.

Demanding a “clear picture” from the Centre and the state government, RJD leader alleged that there was inconsistency on the number of cases being reported.

“Bihar is gradually going to become a global hotspot of COVID-19, as state govt is not worried about the rising number of cases. They are doing nothing to increase testing. The number of COVID-19 deaths is also increasing in Bihar,” Yadav said.

He also stated that different coronavirus numbers are being given for Bihar by Centre and state.

“People are receiving test report even when they have not given any sample for test. Medical staff at COVID-19 centres do not have PPE kits,” he added.

“We demand that state govt must give a clear picture,” youngest opposition leader in the country demanded.

So far, 179 people have died of COVID-19 in Bihar. The number of cases has gone up to 25,136 in the state.
