Congress former chief Rahul Gandhi and current General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra who were heading to Hathras, were stopped by authorities on Yamuna Expressway. They were on their way to meet the family of the 19-year-old Dalit woman who died after being gang-raped by four upper-caste Hindu men.
Section 144 has been imposed in the district and administration has also banned large gatherings.
After their convoy was stopped on the Yamuna Expressway, Congress leaders Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and Rahul Gandhi are marching towards Hathras.
Both Congress leaders were greeted by Congress workers at the Delhi-UP border.
Meanwhile, the Uttar Police lathi-charged few Samajwadi Party workers on NH- 93. They were trying to reach the Dalit woman’s house.
Priyanka Gandhi Vadra said that “instead of protecting the victim and her family, your government became complicit in depriving her of every single human right, even in death. You have no moral right to continue as Chief Minister”.
