From PM Modi to JNUSU president Aishe Ghosh; Parties prepare star campaigners list in Bihar election

In preparations for the Assembly election in Bihar, the parties RJD, JDU, BJP, Congress, AIMIM, and Left parties have come out with the lists of star campaigners including their topmost leaders, who will campaign for Phase 1 of elections. The Election Commission has reduced maximum number of campaigners for the recognised parties to 30 while for the unrecognised parties it would be not more than 20 in view of coronavirus pandemic.

RJD

RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav’s wife and former chief minsiter Rabri Devi, their sons Tejashwi Prasad Yadav, Tej Pratap Yadav and daughter Misa Bharti would be the main star campaigners of the party.

RJD state president Jagdanand Singh, Shivchandra Ram, Uday Narayan Choudhary, MP AD Singh, Alok Mehta and senior leader Abdul Bari Siddiqui also would be the star campaigners of RJD.

“The list will represent all communities,” RJD spokesperson Mrityunjay Tiwari told media.

JD(U)

Bihar chief minister and JD(U) president Nitish Kumar, party’s senior leaders RCP Singh, Ashok Choudhary, Lalan Singh, Sanjay Jha, and Bashishth Narayan Singh and Kehkasha Parveen would be the star campaigners of the ruling party.

Congress

Congress’s list of star campaigners for Bihar assembly elections includes party chief Sonia Gandhi, party’s senior leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi and former prime minister Manmohan Singh.

Meira Kumar, Ghulam Nabi Azad, Shaktisinh Gohil, Sachin Pilot, Randeep Singh Surjewala, Shatrughan Sinha, Shakeel Ahmed, Raj Babbar, Pramod Tiwari, Ashok Gehlot, Captain Amarinder Singh, Bhupesh Baghel, Madan Mohan Jha, Tariq Anwar, former governor Nikhil Kumar, Sadanand Singh, Akhilesh Prasad Singh, Sanjay Nirupam, Kirti Azad, Udit Raj, Imran Pratapgarhi, Prem Chand Mishra, Anil Sharma, Ajay Kapoor, Mohammed Jawed and Virender Singh Rathore are also in the list.

BJP

BJP has released a list of star campaigners that includes party’s top leaders such as Prime Minister Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, party president JP Nadda, Union Minister Smriti Irani, Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath, Devendra Fadnavis and other leaders.

From the state, Sushil Kumar Modi, Nityanand Rai, Ashwini Kumar Choubey, Giriraj Singh, Ravi Shankar Prasad, and RK Singh besides Rajiv Pratap Ruddy, Prem Kumar, Radha Mohan Singh, Sanjay Jaiswal, and Nand Kishore Yadav are also in the list.

CPI(ML)

CPI (ML)’S list of 15 star campaigners includes party’s general secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya, politburo member Kavita Krishnan, state secretary Kunal, central committee member Raju Yadav, former MLA Rajaram Singh, Swadesh Bhattacharya and national president of AISA and former JNUSU president N Sai Balaji.

AIMIM

AIMIM’s list of 5 star campaigners includes party chief Asaduddin Owaisi MP, party general secretary Syed Ahmed Pasha Quadri MLA, Imtiyaz Jaleel MP, Jaffar Hussain Meraj MLA, and Mufti Ismail MLA.

CPI

The CPI came out with its list of 30 star campaigners and the list includes party’s general secretary D Raja, state secretary Ram Naresh Pandey, national secretary Atul Kumar Anjan, Amarjeet Kaur, Ramendra Kumar and party’s youth icon and former JNUSU president Kanhaiya Kumar.

CPI(M)

CPI-M’S list of 30 star campaigners includes party general secretary Sitaram Yechury, politburo members Hanan Mollah and S. Ramachandran Pillai, Brinda Karat, state secretary Awadesh Kumar, JNUSU president Aishe Ghosh, and Hyderabad student union leader Abhishek Nandan.
