Addressing an election rally in Bihar, JD(U) leader and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar Thursday backed population-based reservation for castes.
“As far as the question of population is concerned that is decided only after the census and that decision on the census is not in our hands. We would like that reservation to be proportionate to the population of castes,” Kumar said.
He also added that his party has no two opinions on it.
Kumar was speaking at a poll rally in in Valmiki Nagar.
Kumar has on several occasion in the past said that all castes should get reservation proportionate to their population.
