Yogi govt exposed in Hathras rape-murder case, says Akhilesh Yadav

Samajwadi Party chief and former Uttar Pradesh CM Akhilesh Yadav took a dig at Yogi Adityanath government and said it has been exposed in the Hathras rape-murder case and it will also face the same treatment in the false cases against SP leader and parliamentarian Azam Khan.

“The way the lies of the BJP government have been exposed in the Hathras incident, the process of exposure of false cases in UP has started,” Yadav said in a tweet.

The CBI on Friday filed a chargesheet against the four accused nearly three months after a 19-year-old Dalit woman from a village in Hathras said in her dying declaration that she had been raped by four upper caste Hindu men in her village. Contradicting the Uttar Pradesh Police’s claim that she had not been raped, the CBI said in chargesheet that the Dalit woman was gangraped by upper caste Hindu men.

“Believing in the judiciary and democracy, we are confident that the government will also lose the false cases against Azam Khan and he will get justice very soon,” Akhilesh Yadav said.

SP senior leader Azam Khan, who represents Rampur in the Lok Sabha, is currently lodged at the Sitapur jail after he surrendered at a Rampur court in a case pertaining to fake birth certificate produced by his son Abdullah for the last assembly elections.

Khan’s party accused the Yogi Adityanath government of targeting Khan as part of a political conspiracy.

Akhilesh Yadav said, since BJP has come to power in UP, Azam Khan is being targeted unnecessarily.
