Senior journalist Prabhjit Singh said in a tweet that Punia was on a story on whereabouts of a farmer who was assaulted and taken away by policemen yesterday when BJP workers had attacked protesters in Singhu border.

“He was taking pictures at barricades when picked up,” Singh said.

According to Newslaundry, it learned that a local resident wanted to pass through and was in conversation with policemen when Punia began filming the conversation. This happened after the Delhi police had sealed the entry point to the protest site.

This is a developing story.
