In Unnao, 3 Dalit girls found with hands and legs tied; 2 dead, 1 injured

In a shocking incident, two minor Dalit girls were found dead in Unnao district of Uttar Pradesh while another minor Dalit girl is very critical.

The hands and legs of the three Dalit girls were tied, according to a Times Now report.

Sources said it is suspected that they were assaulted. There are injury marks on their bodies.

As per preliminary reports, the girls had gone to get food for cattle.

Initial examination by doctors and police suggest they were poisoned, India Today reported.

A family member of the deceased told presser that “when they did not return home on time, we started searching for them. They were tied with their own clothes and abandoned in a field.”

Unnao SP told ANI news agency that the doctor states that there are symptoms of poisoning.

“probe on,” he added.

According to a Times Now report, the doctor who attended to the injured girl said that her pupils were dilated and she was in an unconscious state when she was brought to the facility. He said that treatment was administered to the injured girl at the earliest. He added that prima facie, it appears that there is brain damage. The girl is said to be critically injured with minor signs of survival.

The incident happened in Asoha police station area of Unnao. Senior cops including IG Lucknow range reached the spot after being alerted.
