Kejriwal imposes weekend curfew in Delhi to curb COVID-19 spread

The Delhi government on Thursday decided to impose weekend curfew to curb the spread of the coronavirus, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal told reporters.

Essential services will be allowed to function, and special passes will be given for weddings.

Restaurants will be shut for dine in, but home delivery will be allowed. Malls and spas will remain closed. Cinema halls will be allowed to function at 30 per cent capacity.

“There is no shortage of beds in hospitals in Delhi. According to the latest data, more than 5,000 beds are available,” CM said.

India, in the last 24 hours, added over two lakh new coronavirus infections, an unprecedented figure, to take its cumulative count to over 14.1 million.
