Prominent youth activist Umar Khalid who is undergoing judicial custody in Delhi pogrom conspiracy case under draconian UAPA charges, has tested positive for novel coronavirus in Tihar jail on Saturday.
He has been isolated within the jail, according to the jail authorities.
“Physicians are taking care of him and all other tests have been done and he is fine,” a jail official said.
The reports also say that the Tihar jail has 227 active cases among inmates and 60 among jail staff, including a jail superintendent and two prison doctors till 23 April.
