Not a single hospital in state with bed, injection, O2: MP Opposition leader Kamal Nath

Taking a dig at the Madhya Pradesh government’s handling of the surge in coronavirus cases in Madhya Pradesh, Congress leader and former Chief Minister Kamal Nath said, “There is not a single hospital in the state that has medicine, injection, oxygen, ambulance, or bed & CM is saying everything is sufficient.”

“BJP is doing politics on corpses. They think they’ll stop COVID by hiding truth but it won’t happen. I advise him (CM) to take helicopter & visit each dist. I’ll lend my full support as per my capabilities. I’ve spoken to injection companies to increase MP’s quota,” he added.

Meanwhile, Madhya Pradesh government has decided to extend the ongoing ‘corona curfew’ in the state till May 7 to break the chain of COVID-19 transmission.

The state on Wednesday reported 12,758 Covid-19 cases, which took the caseload in the state to 5,38,165 and 105 deaths took the fatality count to 5,424.

“I want to know from Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan about a single hospital where all these facilities are available. It is total criminal negligence,” Nath said.

The state government should have taken note of the second wave of COVID-19 in advance, but it failed to gauge the situation, he said.

He also claimed that the actual number of COVID-19 deaths in the state was being hidden and that the figures were much higher than the official statistics.
