“They showed a video of them attacking other Muslims”; 72 year old assaulted in Ghaziabad for not chanting ‘Jai Shri Ram’

Abdul Samad, 72 year old was brutally thrashed by Hindu extremists in Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad district for not chanting ‘Jai Shri Ram’ and not singing ‘Vande Mataram’.

The latest anti-Muslim incident took place in the town of Loni on 5 June when the Bulandshahr resident Samad was on his way to a mosque to offer prayers.

Samad told Maktoob that he was kidnapped by four Hindutva goons who took him to an isolated place (a hut nearby the forest area) and assaulted him with wooden sticks and forced him to chant ‘Jai Shri Ram’ and ‘Vande Mataram’.

He also said that they cut his beard and showed him a video of other Muslims being attacked by the same Hindu group.

“They got scissors and cut my beard…They also threatened to kill me while showing a video of them attacking other Muslims,” Samad shares his ordeal.

“I was on my way when an auto rickshaw driver offered me a lift. Later two more people got inside the auto and threatened me to stay. Then they took me to a forest and locked me up in a room and started beating me. They asked me to chant Jai Shri Ram and Vande Matram. They also snatched my phone,” he told Maktoob.

The Ghaziabad police has registered a case and arrested one person – Pravesh Gujjar – in this regard. Search is on to nab other three attackers.
