COVID-19: Recovery rate in India stands at 97.20 per cent

According to the Union Health Ministry update, a total of 42,776 new infections of coronavirus were reported in the country in the last 24 hours taking the total caseload of the country to 3.07 crore since the onset of the pandemic.

The daily COVID-19 tally registered on Friday is a little less than the number of fresh cases reported on Thursday. On Thursday, the country had reported a total of 43,393 fresh cases. With the addition of Friday’s tally, the total number of active cases in the country has reached 4.55 lakh.

The death toll has climbed to 4,07,145 with 1,206 fresh fatalities.

The active cases comprise 1.48 per cent of the total infections and the national COVID-19 recovery rate stands at 97.20 per cent, the data updated at 8 am showed.

So far as recoveries are concerned, a total of 45,254 patients recovered from the disease on Friday.

As many as 19,55,225 tests were conducted on Friday, taking the total cumulative tests conducted so far for detection of COVID-19 in the country to 42,90,41,970, while the daily positivity rate was recorded at 2.19 per cent.
