Tribal man tied to truck, dragged through streets, dies in Madhya Pradesh

A recent horrific video of a 45 year old tribal man named Kanhaiya Bheel being tied to a truck and dragged through the streets by a group of men after being thrashed by the assailants, went viral on social media leaving viewers shaken. The tribal man succumbed to his injuries hours after the mob attack.

The incident happened in the Singoli police station limits in the ​​Neemuch district of Madhya Pradesh.

An FIR was registered against 8 men.

Police officials told reporters that the four people have been arrested so far and claimed that the men attacked the tribal man to death following they accused him of theft.

Additional superintendent of police of Neemuch, Sunder Singh Kanesh said Kanhiya Bheel was a resident of Banada village.

According to Kanesh, the arrestees include Mahendra Gurjar, husband of Jetliya village sarpanch.

According to Kashif Kakvi, a journalist with NewsClick, after brutally attacking Kanhaiya, the accused themselves called to the police station and handed the tribal over to the police.

Police team rushed to the spot and took him to a nearby community health center. He was referred to Neemuch district hospital where he died.
