Nayab Singh Saini, BJP leader and Lok Sabha member from Kurukshetra constituency in Haryana, rammed his car on farmers in Punjab’s Ambala on Thursday, leaving farmers injured, alleged farmer bodies.
“Confirmed: One farmer is injured badly and has been rushed to hospital,” read a tweet by Sikh historian and author Amaan Bali.
A seriously injured farmer has been admitted to a hospital in Naraingarh.
The BJP MP was in Ambala to attend a programme to felicitate healthcare workers who were on coronavirus duty. The farmers had reportedly gathered to protest against Saini’s visit.
Bali further said that the latest incident is another attack where BJP members have used vehicles as weapon to mow down protestors.
Confirming the incident, journalist Samriddhi K Sakunia who reports for HW News English also tweeted: “Another case like #LakhimpurKheriViolence : In Narayangarh in Ambala district,BJP MP Nayab Saini’s convoy has rammed a car over protesting farmers. The condition of one farmer is critical. He has been taken to the hospital. @HWNewsEnglish”
Sakunia also shared a video of protesting farmers in Ambala.
This comes in a week in Uttar Pradesh’s Lakhimpur Kheri, an anti-farmer violence claimed the lives of 8 people, four of them being farmers who were mowed down by a vehicle driven by the son of Union Minister and BJP MP Ajay Kumar Mishra.
