Hindu mob attacks Madarasa students in Gujarat

Two Madarasa [Islamic school] students were brutally thrashed by a Hindu Mob in Paldi, Gujarat‘s Ahmedabad district on Sunday night.

Umar (17) and Khizar (16) are hospitalised due to severe injuries. Umar will have to undergo two surgeries on his hand.

“The assailants targeted them as they were wearing kurta pajama and a skullcap,” Umar’s father Mufti Abdul Qayyum told Maktoob.

“They thrashed them so brutally. Umar is still unconscious and Khizar is unable to talk due to the trauma.”

Umar’s hand was twisted and he was repeatedly attacked on his head and he sustained severe injuries.

“On Vishwakunj Char road, a man named Bhavesh with his wife and daughter were on an Activa scooter,” narrates social activist Salim Hafezi.

“He took a turn without an indicator, due to which the scooter of on which the two children were riding, imbalanced, and they fell. Bhavesh’s wife started beating both the children and created a ruckus due to which a crowd gathered at the site and seeing their Muslim identity, the mob started beating them so mercilessly that both the children got fractures on their wrists,” Hafezi said to Maktoob.

Police intervened and shifted the boys to Hospital. an FIR is registered on the family’s complaint in Paldi police station. Police hare assured kin action against the assailants.

“Police have informed that CCTV camera footage will be checked, and arrests will be made on the basis of identity,” Hafezi added.

Maktoob accessed a copy of the FIR lodged under section 154 IPC 323, 294 B, 427.
