Aryan Khan case: Is it legal for NCB officers to use friends as witnesses? asks NCP leader Nawab Malik

Nationalist Congress Party spokesperson Nawab Malik on Saturday alleged that Narcotics Control Bureau officer Sameer Wankhede was using friends as witnesses during the investigation of the Mumbai cruise ship drug case.

“Can a friend of an NCB official be allowed to be a Panch [witness]? Is it legally allowed?,” he asked.

On Twitter, NCP leader Malik shared panchnama documents of the drug raid case in which Wankhede’s friend, Fletcher Patel, has been named as a witness.

A panchnama is a document in which an officer records evidence collected from the location of a possible crime.

Malik also shared pictures of Fletcher and Wankhede from a ceremony during Kargil Shahid Diwas.

While sharing an Instagram picture of Fletcher with a woman, Malik said: “The person seen in this picture is Fletcher Patel and his picture is with Jasmin Wankhede, sister of NCB officer Sameer Wankhede. “

Fletcher had called the woman “lady don” in the Instagrm picture’s caption.

NCP leader had alleged that the NCB had given vague statements about the raid and even released a relative of a Bharatiya Janata Party leader within hours of detention.

Manish Bhanushali, national vice-president of Bharatiya Janata Party, and KP Gosavi, a private investigator were part of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) raid during which actor Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan was arrested, NCP spokesperson Nawab Malik had earlier alleged.

Malik had shared two new videos on Twitter showing BJP leader and private investigator entering and leaving the NCB office in Mumbai.

Sharing the two videos in a press conference in Mumbai, Malik had claimed that the video was shot on the night of the raid.

Meanwhile, Actor Shah Rukh Khan’s son, Aryan Khan, arrested in connection with a drugs case, will continue to stay in jail as a Mumbai court reserved its order on his bail plea till the next hearing on October 20.

Aryan Khan and seven others were detained on October 3 after the Narcotics Control Bureau raided a party on a cruise ship off the coast of Mumbai and seized drugs on board. No drugs were found in possession of the actor’s son.
