Sergio Agüero will retire from football due to his heart problems and Barcelona could announce it during the next week, journalist Gerard Romero, specialised in information about the club, tweeted on Saturday.
Moreno has informed that Agüero has taken the difficult decision to hang the boots to consequence of his problems cardiológicos, that would not allow him compete to maximum level.
“The Kun Agüero withdraws . The problems in the heart force him to leave the football in active. The next week there is foreseen a press conference for the announcement of his withdrawal,” read the tweet.
“Sergio Agüero’s set to retire from football due to heart problems, @gerardromero reports. The decision has been made and Barcelona have been informed. Press conference to clarify the situation expected next week,” read Fabrizio Romano’s Tweet.
On 1 November, the club announced that the 31 year old will be unavailable till January while the Barcelona striker undergoes “a diagnostic and therapeutic process” following a cardiological evaluation.
The Barça statement read: “Sergio Agüero has been subjected to a diagnostic and therapeutic process by Dr Josep Brugada. He is unavailable for selection and during the next three months the effectiveness of treatment will be evaluated in order to determine his recovery process.”
The former Manchester City forward was admitted to hospital three weeks ago.
