RLD formally announces alliance with Samajwadi Party

Rashtriya Lok Dal president Jayant Chaudhary has formally announced his party’s alliance with Samajwadi Party.

Jayant said if the alliance comes to power in Uttar Pradesh next year, the first work will be to build memorial for ‘martyrs’ of farmers’ protest.

Jayant Chaudhary and Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav shared the stage on Tuesday in Meerut’s Dabathua village, months ahead of the crucial Uttar Pradesh assembly polls.

“The BJP will get a befitting reply from the people in the Uttar Pradesh polls next year as they have understood its politics of hatred,” Jayant said.

Slamming chief minister Yogi Adityanath, RLD president said “our Babaji (Yogi Adityanath) begins with Aurangzeb and concludes with the Kairana exodus”.

“We (RLD and SP) were on the same path, our starting points were the same, our ideologies also matched. So, when we have to tread the same path, we should do it together,” earlier on Tuesday, Jayant told NDTV.

“UP Badal (change),” Jayant tweeted.
