Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav on Sunday said he would complain to the Election Commission to remove former IPS officer Asim Arun and other retired bureaucrats like him who have joined the Bharatiya Janata Party over the years.

“We will complain to the EC about all such officials who join the BJP. Questions will arise if EC doesn’t probe the matter,” Yadav said.

Asim Arun, the former IPS officer who was posted as Commissioner of Kanpur Police before taking Voluntary Retirement recently, has joined the saffron team on Sunday. Sources say that Asim Arun may be fielded from Kannauj in the upcoming assembly polls.
