COVID-19: India reports 2.09 lakh new cases

India has reported 2.09 lakh new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, about 10% lower than Sunday — 2.34 lakh infections. The positivity rate rose to 15.7% from 14.5%, according to the Union health ministry data on Monday.

The active caseload now stands at 18,31,268 while the recovery rate marginally rose to 94.37 per cent.

The overall COIVD-19 caseload of the country is 4,10,92,522 while the death toll climbed to 4,95,050 after Kerala added 374 backlog deaths to Monday’s count.

The daily and weekly positivity rates were at 14.5 per cent and 16.4 per cent on Sunday.
