Veteran Malayalam actor KPAC Lalitha dies at 75

Popular South Indian actor KPAC Lalitha who has had a prolific career in Malayalam cinema, has died at the age of 75.

In a career spanning five decades, she had starred in over 550 films.

She was the current chairperson of Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Akademi. She was married to the late Malayalam filmmaker Bharathan.

Lalitha has won several awards for her work. She has won two National Film Awards for Best Supporting Actress, in 1991 and 2001, and has won four Kerala State Film awards as well, in 1975, 1978, 1990, and 1991. She was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award during the 2009 Filmfare South Awards.
