The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Wednesday arrested NCP leader and Maharashtra minister Nawab Malik in connection with the money laundering case against Dawood Ibrahim and his aides.
“Ladenge, jeetenge, sab ko expose karenge. (Will fight, win and expose everyone),” stepping out of the ED office after questioning, Malik told reporters.
ANI news agency reported that he has been taken to J J Hospital for a medical checkup.
The money laundering case was registered against Dawood by the NIA and ED registered an Enforcement Case Information Report.
Malik was picked up from his house at 7 am on Wednesday and he was being questioned since 8 am.
Nawab Malik has been repeatedly attacking central enforcement agencies, accusing them of harassing and intimidating opposition leaders at the behest of the BJP-led Union government.
Two weeks back, Malik had hit out at the Union government for trying to topple the state government and said the NCP, Congress and Shiv Sena will not only continue to govern Maharashtra but will also come to power at the Union by dislodging the BJP.
