Bengaluru schools receive bomb threats

Multiple private schools in Bengaluru on Friday received bomb threats via email triggering panic.

“A very powerful bomb has been planted in your school, attention is not a joke, this is not a joke, a very powerful bomb has been planted in your school, immediately call the police and sappers, hundreds of lives may suffer, including yours, do not delay, now everything is only in your hands,” reads the email.

The emails were sent from different email ids. City police has initiated an investigation to trace the source of the email.

City Police and Bomb Disposal Squads rushed to the spot and searched the premises.

According to The Hindu, police evacuated all the schools that received the threat.

Additional Commissioner of Police (Bengaluru East) Dr Subramanyeshwara Rao said that the threats mostly seemed like a hoax.

“But we are taking it seriously and not leaving anything to chance,” Rao told The Hindu.
