KCR skips Modi’s Hyderabad visit, says India will see change at national level

Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Telangana on Thursday, Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao flew to Bengaluru to meet former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda and former Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy.

Hours after missing PM Modi’s visit, Rao said that the country will soon see a change at the national level, NDTV reported.

This is the second time KCR skips Modi’s visit in this year.

In February, Rao had avoided a meeting with Modi, when the PM visited the state to unveil a statue of saint Ramanujacharya.

Rao told reporters that Modi has given a lot of speeches, but the promises made by him have not been turned to reality.

Rao said: “Industries are closing down, GDP is falling, inflation is increasing. There will be a change at the national level and no one can stop it. India will change…India must change.”

“Rao is working for an alternative front, he is meeting several leaders and visiting various states,” Kumaraswamy told ANI news agency after the meeting.

In the last few months, the Telangana chief minister has held meetings with Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal and Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray.
