Muslim teenager arrested in UP for ‘objectionable’ WhatsApp status on Adityanath

A Muslim teenager Akram Ali was arrested in Uttar Pradesh for posting allegedly objectionable WhatsApp status about Chief Minister Adityanath on social media.

Ali, a 19-year-old painter and a resident of Tetaria village, has been booked under provisions of the the Information Technology Act.

Ali has also been booked under sections 504 (intentional insult with intent to hprovoke breach of the peace), 505 (creating or promoting enmity, hatred or ill will between classes), 469 (forgery for harming reputation) and 295 (injuring or defiling place of worship with intent to insult the religion of any class) of the Indian Penal Code.

Ali was taken into Khajni police station custody shortly he had put up a WhatsApp status about the chief minister on Sunday.
