Supreme Court grants interim bail to Alt News co-founder and prominent Muslim journalist Mohammed Zubair for 5 days in the FIR registered by UP Police over calling Hindutva monks “hate-mongers” on condition that he will not leave jurisdiction of the Sitapur Magisrate and will not post any tweets.
He will remain in jail for now as there’s still no bail in a case registered in Delhi.
The UP government argued today that he is being taken to Bengaluru in police custody so any bail should be given only after that . It also underlined that he is in judicial custody in the Delhi case. But the Supreme Court said, “We are dealing with only the UP police case. The matter be listed before the appropriate bench next week.”
