At least nine people, including three kids died when an under-construction wall of an Army enclave collapsed, following heavy rain, in the Dilkusha area of Uttar Pradesh’s Lucknow late Thursday night.
The victims were living in huts outside the enclave and were sleeping when the incident took place,.
The deceased include three men, three women and three children.
The deceased men worked as daily wage labourers.
Two people were injured in the incident. The injured are undergoing treatment at a hospital and doctors said their condition was stable.
Learning about the incident, a police team rushed to the spot, pulled out victims from the debris and rushed them to a hospital, Indian Express reported.
In a statement, the district administration said that the state government has announced financial assistance of Rs 4 lakh each to the next of kin of the deceased.
