Doctor among two Palestinians killed by Israel

Israeli forces on Friday shot and killed two Palestinians, including a Doctor, during a raid on the city of Jenin. Abdullah Abu al-Teen, a doctor working at the Khalil Suleiman Governmental Hospital, was shot while trying to treat casualties during an Israeli raid.

The Palestinian health ministry he was shot in the head in front of the Jenin public hospital. The second man killed on Friday morning is 20-year-old Mateen Dabaya.

Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh mourned Abu al-Teen’s killing. Shtayyeh called on international human rights and humanitarian organizations to condemn the targeting of Abu El-Teen, and the two ambulance officers, who were trying to rescue Dabaya.

Confrontations broke out with Israeli forces and settlers in dozens of neighbourhoods, towns and villages across occupied East Jerusalem and the West Bank after Israeli forces enforced a blockade on Shuafat refugee camp.

Around 140,000 Palestinians live in Shuafat, the only refugee camp within Jerusalem’s municipal boundary.

Scores of Palestinians have been killed in recent months during near-daily Israeli raids across the West Bank.
