“Aim is to stop me from going to Gujarat”: Manish Sisodia on CBI summons

Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia reached the CBI headquarters in the national capital on Monday following the central agency’s summons in connection with excise policy case.

“I visited Gandhi Samadhi and took aashirwad from Bapu. Bapu was also arrested and stopped from doing good. They raided my house, bank locker and searched every single corner and found nothing against me,” Sisodia said before leaving to CBI office.

Aam Aadmi Party had given a call to all workers and youths to join the protest at CBI headquarters.

The Delhi Police detained all AAP leaders and workers who were holding a sit-in protest outside the CBI office on Monday. All AAP leaders, workers and MLAs including Sanjay Singh, Rakhi Birla, Sanjay Singh, Jarnail Singh, Kuldeep Kumar and others have been detained by the police.

“We are sitting on a peaceful protest but Modi’s police is dragging and harrassing woman and senior leaders.we are sitting peacefully here, how come section 144 is violating…We are elected representatives and don’t we have respect….This is a complete atrocity by police,” said AAP leader Sanjay Singh.

“Gujarat results will be out on December 8. These people will keep Manish in jail till then. So that Manish does not go for campaigning in Gujarat elections,” said Delhi CM and AAP convenor Arvind Kejriwal.

“Prison locks will break, Manish Sisodia will be free,” Kejriwal tweeted in Hindi while sharing a video of Sisodia addressing supporters before he headed to the Central Bureau of Investigation for questioning.

In the news video clip shared by Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia says the government wants to imprison him, but he is a follower of freedom fighter Bhagat Singh, and is not afraid of going to jail.

“20-year-olds sacrificed their lives for our freedom struggle. The nation demands sacrifice once again. The nation demands once again someone who is not scared to go to jail, and we are proud that we don’t fear that,” he said.

“They raided my home, nothing came out of it. They went to my village to find anything against him, but they got nothing. Now they plan to arrest me to stop me from campaigning in Gujarat. I am not afraid of CBI, ED (Enforcement DIrectorate) or going to the jail,” he added.
