Indian School of Democracy (ISD) is opened applications for the 2nd iteration of The Good Politician, a 9 month long experiential political leadership journey with 30 young political leaders who aim to transform public leadership of India.
The idea is to build political skills, a community of future politicians, and the moral courage and imagination to lead political change across India.
Eminent political leaders have quoted this program to be one of the most inspiring initiatives in the country towards defining principled politics in recent times, the organisers claimed.
The final deadline to apply for the program is 25th December 2022.
“This year we will hold the 2nd iteration of this program which begins in March 2023 and ends in December 2023. It’s a unique executive program which allows participants to stay in their current roles and be part of the program. The 9 months are divided into 3 trimesters consisting of 2 week ‘residentials’ across the country followed by 12-16 weeks ‘field time’ applying their learning and practicing in their own constituencies. It contains weekly online sessions with field experts or political leaders to enhance our political knowledge, skills and get clarity of political inner self. In last iteration, we invited senior politicians like Asauddin Owaisi, Ram Madhav, Rohit Pawar, Atishi, Meenakshi Natarajan, and V Sivadasan among others along with field experts like Amitabh Behar, Esha Alagh, T R Raghunandan among others,” read the statement by Indian School of Democracy.
In the past 4 years, Indian School of Democracy has worked with 150+ young political leaders from more than 24 states. In each of its programs, the focus is on having participants from different political parties and marginalized communities, they said.
“Our alumni include sarpanches, councilors, and spokespersons in parties. It is a vibrant community of young politicians working towards principled politics,” added the press note.
