Kerala CM meets Israel official, announces ’possibilities of collaboration’

Kerala Chief Minister and CPI(M) senior leader Pinarayi Vijayan met an Israel delegation, headed by Tammy Ben-Haim, Consul General of Israel in South India on Tuesday and said the meeting was ‘enriching.’

“Had an enriching discussion with Consul General of Israel to South India @tammybenhaim. Recalled the age old ties between Israel and Kerala. She has assured to look into the possibilities of collaboration with Kerala in agriculture and tourism,” read a tweet by Pinarayi Vijayan.

The Consul General assured CM that she will consult the Ministry of Tourism in Israel to see how the tourism cooperation with Kerala can be taken forward.

An Israeli Minister is preparing to visit Kerala in February, sources say.

Meanwhile, Pinarayi Vijayan’s meeting drew criticism from some social media users.

They said Pinarayi Vijayan who is the sole communist chief minister in India forgot the left parties’ stand on Israel.
