Emiliano Martinez targets Mbappe again after ‘he is dead’ remark; this time with obscene gestures

Argentina goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez, who won the Golden Glove as the Best Goalkeeper of the FIFA World Cup 2022, made a obscene gesture during Argentina’s trophy parade days after he did the same on the presentation podium after his team’s triumph over France in the final.

While the Argentina goalkeeper earned plenty of praise for his heroics between the sticks during the penalty shootout, many didn’t agree with him on the gestures he made.

During victory rally in Argentina, Martinez has mocked France super star Kylian Mbappe, holding a baby doll with Mbappe’s face on it.

Martinez held the Mbappe doll aloft while standing next to the 24-year-old’s PSG team-mate and football legend Lionel Messi as the pair celebrated Argentina’s penalty shootout win against France.

Earlier during the dressing room celebration, the Argentina players danced around the dressing room after their win and they were all heard singing “a minute’s silence for” in tandem, before leaving a gap for goalkeeper Martinez to shout: “For Mbappe who is dead!”

Martinez initially took aim at Mbappe before the World Cup final, as he accused the Frenchman of “knowing nothing about football” when referencing his criticism of South American qualifying earlier this year.
