Israeli extremist settlers kidnap two Palestinian children aged 13 and three and tie them to a tree near their home in Nablus in the occupied West Bank, Middle East Eye reported.
Local residents managed to catch up with Israeli settlers and rescue the children.
Mohammed Hanani, the children’s uncle, said his two daughters and their cousins were playing outside their home when a group of settlers arrived. The settlers kidnapped 13-year-old Maryam and her three-year-old brother Ahmed, taking them to a remote area where they tied them to an olive tree.
According to a video testimony of Hanani, one of their cousins tried to intervene, but settlers attacked him with stones.
“My two little girls came crying and screaming, so we chased after the settlers. We eventually found the children unconscious and tied to a tree. The settlers had fled to the outpost on an ATV.”
According to the United Nations, settler violence in the South Hebron Hills remains heightened, with attacks on Palestinians in Masafer Yatta by Israeli settlers on both 7 and 13 April injuring at least six Palestinian residents, among them two children.
According to OCHA, between 7 October 2023 and 14 April 2025, 915 Palestinians were killed in the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem. Of those, 109 Palestinians, including at least 17 children, were killed since the beginning of 2025.
