Abu Obaida, the spokesperson of the Qassam Brigades, Hamas’s military wing, has hailed Yemen’s Houthi rebels for their “honourable stance and direct support” for the people of Gaza.
His statement came after the Houthis fired a missile at Israel’s Ben Gurion airport earlier today, which the Israeli army said it intercepted.
The Houthis have launched a hypersonic missile at Israel’s Ben Gurion airport, days after the Israeli army broke a ceasefire in Gaza, the Yemeni group said.
“The Yemeni armed forces carried out a qualitative military operation targeting Ben Gurion airport in the occupied Jaffa region with a Palestine-2 hypersonic ballistic missile,” Houthi spokesman Yahya Saree said on Thursday.
“Today, Yemeni missiles intersected with Gaza missiles in the skies over Tel Aviv, confirming that Gaza is not alone,” Abu Obaida said, referring to rockets fired from Gaza.
He called on people around the world to “engage in the battle” and to continue supporting Gaza in an effort to force Israel to stop its genocide.
The Houthis resumed their attacks on maritime targets in the Red Sea and on Isreal, which they had been keeping up for most of Isreal’s genocidal war on Gaza, late last week. The US has responded with multiple rounds of strikes on Houthi-controlled areas of Yemen, killing mostly civilians.
Gaza’s Health Ministry says 506 Palestinians, including 200 children, have been killed and 909 injured in the enclave since Israel shattered the ceasefire on Tuesday.
At least 110 people have been killed since dawn today in the war-torn territory, Al Jazeera reported.
