At least 71 Palestinians, including women and children, have been killed in predawn attacks by Israel in the north and south of the territory.
The latest killings will add to the Gaza Health Ministry’s death toll of some 436 Palestinians, including 183 children, killed since Israel shattered the ceasefire and resumed its genocidal war on Gaza on Tuesday.
“Since dawn today there has been a staggering surge of air strikes on the southern part of the Gaza Strip where the Israeli Air Force has targeted at least 10 residential buildings that were packed with civilians in the cities of Khan Younis and Rafah,” says Al Jazeera journalist Tareq Abu Azzoum
Reporting from Al Aqsa Hospital, central Gaza.
“There has been a clear strategic approach that Israel has been using, which does not pass any sort of warning to civilians before striking the buildings that they are taking refuge in,” he said.
“We understand that the death toll has sharply increased to 71 Palestinians, including newborn babies, children, women and men who had been sleeping.”
Meanwhile, the Yemen-based Houthis said they launched a hypersonic missile at Israel’s Ben Gurion airport. The Israeli military said it intercepted the missile before it entered the country’s territory.
The US military carried out strikes on Houthi-controlled areas of Yemen for a fifth night in a row, attacking the province of Hodeidah and a wedding hall under construction in the capital Sanaa, resulting in several injuries.
