The International Commission to Support Palestinian Rights (ICSPR) on Sunday reported that Israeli occupation forces have continued their extensive ground invasion and tight siege of Northern Gaza for the 44th consecutive day. The ICSPR describes the situation as a grave humanitarian crisis involving ethnic cleansing, genocide, forced displacement, and widespread destruction.
According to ICSPR’s statement, these actions have resulted in over 70 massacres, with more than 2,500 people killed and 6,000 injured. Hundreds of individuals remain missing, while tens of thousands have been forcibly displaced, stripped of necessities, and left homeless. ICSPR also documented targeted violence, including deliberate killings and nighttime bombings of homes known to shelter dozens of civilians, primarily women and children.
In the past hours alone, four massacres reportedly claimed over 90 lives in Beit Lahiya, with families such as Abdel-Atti, Ghabein, Ghoneim, Talouli, and Safi gravely affected. The organization highlights the destruction of 42 shelters for displaced individuals, alongside incidents like the storming of three shelters in Beit Hanoun, where displaced residents were expelled, and aid supplies burned. In Al-Shati Camp, the UNRWA-run Abu Asi School was bombed, causing 10 fatalities and injuring around 20, with many victims still buried under the rubble. Humanitarian rescue efforts have been severely obstructed, the ICSPR notes, with Israeli forces blocking emergency teams from accessing the affected areas for the 26th day.
The commission has issued an urgent plea to various international bodies, including the United Nations, the European Union, and the International Criminal Court, among others. ICSPR stresses the necessity for immediate global intervention to halt the violence, ensure accountability for those responsible, and provide a lifeline to the besieged Palestinian civilians.
The ICSPR highlighted that for 408 consecutive days, Israeli occupation forces have waged a war of aggression marked by genocidal crimes against civilians, resulting in approximately 43,799 fatalities (4% of the population), over 103,601 injuries, the detention of 7,000 individuals, and the destruction of 86% of homes and civilian facilities. The Israeli forces continue to bombard residential areas, shelters, and displacement camps indiscriminately and without warning.
ICSPR also reports that Northern Gaza remains under a strict siege, preventing vital humanitarian aid and medical supplies from reaching those in need for the 53rd consecutive day. The group emphasizes the severe impact on hospitals, such as the Indonesian Hospital, which has been rendered out of service, and the dwindling resources at Kamal Adwan and Al-Awda hospitals. Approximately 70,000 residents remain trapped, facing starvation and a lack of access to medical care.
The statement also condemns the destruction of critical infrastructure, forced displacement of over 150,000 residents, and drone strikes targeting civilians attempting to flee. ICSPR highlights that the ongoing violence and restrictions constitute flagrant violations of international humanitarian and human rights law.
Holding the Israeli government, the United States, and supportive states responsible, ICSPR accuses them of enabling war crimes and violations of conventions such as the Geneva Conventions of 1949 and the Rome Statute. The organization underscores the international community’s failure to act decisively, calling for urgent measures to ensure humanitarian aid reaches Northern Gaza, protect civilians, and bring Israeli leaders to justice to prevent further impunity.
