The United States State Department has informed Congress it plans to sell more than $3 billion (₹26,133 crore) in munitions, bulldozers and other military-related equipment to Israel, which has used US-made weapons to devastating effect during its genocidal war on Gaza.
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has approved three separate sales, which will now be sent to Congress for approval, according to the State Department.
The US Defense Security Cooperation Agency said the packages are as follows:
$2.04bn in bomb bodies and warheads, including 35,529 MK 84 or BLU-117 heavy bombs and 4,000 I-2000 Penetrator warheads. Delivery expected in 2026.
$295m in bulldozers and related equipment, including D9 Caterpillar armoured bulldozers. Delivery expected to begin in 2027.
$675.7m in other bomb bodies and related equipment, including 201 MK 83 1,000-pound (450kg) bombs, 4,799 BLU-110A/B 1,000-pound bombs, and 5,000 JDAM guidance kits. Delivery expected in 2028.
The agency said the sales “will improve Israel’s capability to meet current and future threats, strengthen its homeland defence, and serve as a deterrent to regional threats.”
