Assaulted Dalit woman; 4 upper caste men booked in UP

For upper caste men have been booked for trying to strip a 38-year-old Dalit woman in Uttar Pradesh’s Aligarh district on Thursday.

The men also casteist abuses on her when she asked them to stop beating her sons, according to the FIR.

A dispute over watering of agricultural fields led to the clash between the two sides, police said.

“When I reached the place, I saw them beating my sons and requested them to let my sons go, but they did not listen. One of them tried to strip me by ripping off my clothes. They also hurled abuses on me,” the Dalit woman said.

The Dalit woman also alleged that the upper caste men opened fire at them but the bullets missed them.

SP (rural) Palash Bansal said two men were injured in the clash.
